Link your VRS chip card / digital KVB season ticket in the nextbike app. Open the wallet and select either “KVB bike | with subscription on the VRS chip card” or “KVB bike | with digital subscription” and enter your chip card number or the customer number from the ticket email and your age.

If you are using the chip card, you must verify it once by using it as a rental medium, at least for the first rental.

You can then cycle for 30 minutes free of charge on this and subsequent rentals.

You received a new chip card?

Delete your current partner link in the Wallet of the nextbike app and repeat the linking procedure with your new card. Use the card for the first rental to validate it.

30 minutes of each rental in Cologne are inclusive. Each additional 30 minutes cost €1, the maximum daily rate is €9 for 24 h. Possible return surcharges will still apply. You can rent up to four bikes at the same time using one account. The concession will only apply to the first bike, though. Further bikes are charged in the local basic rate if no other tariff was booked.

If you use the chip card, discounts are also granted in other cities in the VRS area.

You can also enjoy benefits in other cities/regions in the VRS area if you enter your chip card number in the nextbike app. Details on the special conditions can be found on the respective website:
